YELLOW JOURNALISM

The "Yellow"

Yellow, the color of sunshine, hope, and happiness, has conflicting associations. On one hand yellow stands for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy, but on the other, it represents cowardice and deceit.

A dull or dingy yellow may represent caution, sickness, and jealousy.
If yellow is overused, it can have a disturbing effect. For example, it is a proven fact that babies cry more in rooms painted yellow.

Too much yellow causes loss of focus and makes it hard to complete a task.

Too much yellow also can cause people to become critical and demanding.

What is Yellow Journalism?
yellow journalism /noun
newspaper reports that are written in an exaggerated way in order to shock the readers

The Context
February 14 is usually the day of love, and the colour Red. While I was out for some work, I observed that a lot of people were wearing Red coloured outfits.

By the time I returned home, the "Red" had become the color of deceit, heinous, hatred, and cowardice, because some 40 of my mother India's brave hearts were cowardly ambushed by a jihadist - who was grown on the Indian soil, fed and nurtured by Indian ecosystem, but forgot his duties towards my motherland.

By that evening,  the Indian social media was full of messages and videos. I came across an urging message "My request to please watch this video on the 10 things we should not do after the Pulwama attack. You may have your own opinion but do hear out this entire video".

I decided to give it a go. But couldn't go beyond 3 minutes because it was 10 times worse than a rotten egg or other items, which, I would not mention here due to my sensibilities.

And that compelled me to respond to his "Pak - propaganda" through this "real" estate.

Democracy in India is alive still, for all including "parasitical" dissenters - albeit with sense of responsibility !!

When I searched for the presenter, an innocent looking guy, I found that he was a "failed journalist" who claimed to have spent a decade in TV news anchoring, and now trying his luck in FM channels.

Maybe he was like many others from the famous Lutens's media gang, he too is “a failed TV" journo, carving a living for his family by "surrogate" journalism?

The Impact
Well, I was surprised to have received the same video from a number of other sources, totally unrelated, and some of my acquaintances heavily “prescribing” that video as "sensible".

This is a classic case of yellow journalism, coupled with someone suffering from the "Stockholm Syndrome (in which a captive person develops positive feeling for his captors).

When a person doesn’t have substance or doesn’t have the courage to gather the truth, he or she adopts the “parasitic” path of yellow journalism.

They make every attempt to ride the “event “ to gain publicity in every possible manner, even if it is cheap enough.

This learned presenter tried to project himself as a “daredevil “ who will ask “difficult" questions on this cowardly attack.

The blood of my jawan is wet still, and here he is making a nauseating efforts to gain publicity. He tries to establish himself as a political satirist, but there too I am sure he is failing spectacularly.

My Take
No doubt. New, Different and Bigger - this will the response from our armed forces and government.

Cheap and Propaganda Efforts like this one by this political satirist, should not be endorsed, at least that is what is expected from the so called self proclaimed “educated" class of citizens.

This presenter has such a low IQ that, he thinks, that the Indian armed forces, and the government of India (that too when Narendra Modi is PM, who is well-known among his enemies for his X-factor strategies), will respond in the similar manner like 2017.

As per this guy, His friends in Pakistan have already prepared as per syllabus of 2017. But, to this person of “low IQ than a 4th grader", Modi is fond of dropping questions that are not part of the “syllabus” his adversaries or enemies must have been by-hearting “.

Cheap and Worst, to say the least. May God give some mind (सदबुद्धि ) to these yellow journalists.

Do, Listen to my audio clip, as a reply to this and other comrades of the “Aman Ki Asha“ brigade.

We forever remain indebted to the supreme sacrifice made by of our bravehearts.

Battle of Generations, Mumbai

4th January 2026 Battle of Generations - Mumbai’s time is “NOW”.. Mumbaikars’ tryst with democracy is on 15th January when voting for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), asia’s richest governance setup takes place. This is a golden chance for voters across all generations like boomers, Gen X, Millennials and Gen Z to elect a set of corporators who could solve their basic problems, and address aspirations optimally. Although each generation’s priorities would be different – from modern infra to lesser corruption to transparency to communal harmony to environment to preserving linguistic identity or track record or diversity-equity-inclusivity to futurist (looking ahead).  This heady mix of generations and their priorities makes it a lot difficult for political parties to make a common denominator of promises, and put them on their voting platter. Hopefully, the intelligent ones will be able to make a good & believable platter of promises. Less of freebies and m...

Moment of reckoning, Mumbaikar

Mumbai. For some it is a city of dreams and glamour, some had "haadsaas (accidents)", many made a "good life" out of it, few made generational wealth while enduring here. So what is this Mumbai exactly? Is it a home to slums or glossy sky-scrapers, curvy-flyovers or is it a thriving economy, or a culture or a simple habitat? Maybe all of that. Most importantly, it is like a sea of wealth!! With every incoming wave it brings wealth to many, and with every outgoing tide it erodes wealth of a few! This “sea of wealth” has been a relentless attraction for majority of its inhabitants. For ages and Generations. All socio-economic classes thrive on that sea of wealth : the ultra-mega-super rich to neo-rich to upper middle-class to middle class to lower middle-class to financially constrained. This sea of wealth gives rise to aspirations to each of these classes – every moment. All of these classes have a symbiotic relationships with each other, and that's how this ci...

TrendSpotting : New and Rising - Pickleball

20 November 2022, Mumbai Let’s have a ball, Pickleball! A school friend of mine recently got transferred from Kolkata to Mumbai. Being a fitness-oriented person, he asked me if there are any good recreation (sports) facilities nearby. Knowing that he got an apartment in the heart of Vile Parle East, I was quick to recommend Prabodhankar Thackeray Krida Sankul (PTKS) – an obvious choice for anyone living in the western suburbs to relax, unwind, train and play!   While he was thrilled to see the Olympic size swimming pool, he got curious about a game that a group of boys were playing in the open area. While the game looked like lawn tennis, but it was not. It appeared to be an easy yet fitness-oriented game to him. When I told him that it is called “ Pickleball” he was like I was kidding! It was natural, A commoner may be amused to hear “Pickleball” being name of a sport! Well, that it is true.   I then took up the opportunity to introduce him to some trainers of the...
